Stop Birds From Landing Or Roosting

We install needle strips or shock track on ledges, beams, the tops of signs, and anywhere birds are roosting and causing unsightly and unhealthy droppings. We can reach any area with our ladders and boom lifts.

We Clean Droppings and Nesting Material

Review of common nuisance bird species

Birds are incredible animals. They are the source of many dreams for young boys and girls who love that these creatures can fly and wish that they had this special feature as well. In addition, birds can be so beautiful. Cardinals, blue jays, and other similar birds can be so beautiful and really make your home even more special.

While there are some amazing birds out there, there are also others that can be nothing but a nuisance. They get into everything, make a giant mess, and can be disturbing in more ways than seems imaginable. In addition, there are a lot of birds that carry diseases and parasites that can be dangerous to the health of yourself, your family, and your pets. You sure do not want these nuisance animals around your home.

This may make you wonder, what are the most common kinds of birds that can a nuisance to you? There are a lot more than you might know, so here are the most common ones.

Pigeon – this may be the bird that is the biggest nuisance of them all. This is true for many reasons. It starts with the fact that these animals travel in large colonies. This means that if you see one pigeon you are likely to see dozens, if not hundreds of them. Pigeons are scavengers, so they will eat just about anything. On top of that, they leave their waste everywhere. They can do a real number on your property because of how must noise and destruction they leave behind. Add to this the fact that they carry a lot of parasites and diseases that is released in their waste and it is easy to see why they are such a nuisance.

Sparrows – this is another bird that travels around in large numbers. What makes them such a nuisance is the large numbers of these birds that you will find, usually hundreds. They are loud animals that are constantly making noise. Plus, they can take over your trees in no time at all. One thing that most find annoying is that they will frequently be found in a person's chimney. They will build a home during the summer time, and then when you open up the flume they come racing into your home. It can be a real serious problem.

The European Starling is another animal like the sparrow. When these birds come around they are hard to get rid of. They will make a lot of noise and leave a lot of messes and waste behind. They can be so numerous that they can make it impossible for other birds to come around. If you have cardinals that are coming near your property they will basically be boxed out by the starling.

Blackbird – this is another animal that can be a major nuisance, but they go well beyond numbers. Even if you have just a few around your property they can make quite a racked. Most are familiar with the cry of these birds, which is quite loud and provides a shrieking noise that is as irritating as it gets.

In addition, these animals are notorious for destroying the crops that people grow. Consider that scare crows were created specifically to keep these animals away because of how they destroy corn fields, gardens, and other growing areas. They will eat whatever they can find and will make quite a terrible situation for you if not dealt with.

Seagulls – If you have been to the beach any time recently or have been around an area that is near a large body of water then you know what a nuisance these birds can be. Seagulls are the pigeons of the water birds. They will scavenge for anything that they can find and are like pigeons in the fact that they travel in large numbers together. You are likely to see dozens or hundreds of seagulls traveling together.

The numbers not only mean a lot of mess that can be behind you, but they also carry a lot of diseases and parasites. Some of these can be very nasty, so having them around in large numbers is really a recipe for disaster. Add to it the fact that they make a lot of noise and this can be one of the worst kinds of birds to have around.

Woodpeckers – maybe they are great in a cartoon, but around your property they can be a terrible disaster. Let's start with the fact that they make a lot of racket. Woodpeckers peck very loudly to get insects and other kinds of food out of the inside or the cracks that are found in wood – hence the name. To do this they hit hard against the wood with their beaks, which can make a very loud racket.

When it is a tree that woodpecker is pecking at, this may not be as big of a deal. However, when it is the side of your home then we are talking about a whole different kind of idea. The last thing you want is for this bird to make a whole or a gap into the siding of your home or into the roof. This can allow the elements to get inside the walls, especially water, which can lead to erosion, mold, and other serious issues. Plus, the holes can lead to animals such as other birds, mice, or squirrels making their way into your house.
